Try a taste of Morocco with these deliciously Ras el Hanout fragrant chickpeas. Ras el Hanout is a spice mix with its origin in Morocco. There is no definitive composition of spices that makes up ras el hanout but in general it contains turmeric, cumin, coriander and cardamom seeds, chili, ginger, fenugreek, peppercorn, nutmeg, cinnamon and fenugreek. You can make this snack with a variety of interesting flavors, e.g. coriander & lime or any other flavor that pops into your mind. The flavor combinations are endless.
These roasted chickpeas make the perfect snack, side dish or salad topping. Either way, they will spice up your meal. They are also vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free and high in fibre and protein.

Ingredients
- 2 cans chickpeas
- 2 tsp ras el hanout spice
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C
- Put the chickpeas in a bowl and toss with olive oil and spice mix until evenly coated, season with salt
- Spread chickpeas on a baking tray lined with parchment paper
- Bake for 20 min or until desired crispiness is achieved
